Rig Electrician – Support for Rigs 990, F07, F10, F36 and F35

• Responsible for the electrical and electromechanical integrity of the drilling package across five AC/VFD land rigs (1500 / 2000 HP), from routine maintenance to fault diagnosis.
• Rigs drilling directional oil and gas wells for YPF up to 8,000 m with MPD (managed pressure drilling), on PADs of 6 in-line wells per location with walking rigs.
• Diagnose and repair faults on motors and driven equipment from 1.5 to 2000 HP at 600 VAC / 60 Hz, working to IEC / NEC standards and site HSE procedures.
• Troubleshoot ABB ACS800 VFD power sections and control logic: parameterization, functional testing, trend analysis and DDCS fiber-optic links (RDCO modules).
• Troubleshoot PLC logic, I/O, interlocks and hardwired relays; read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics to isolate faults quickly and minimize NPT.
• Maintain, test and repair CAT 3512C gensets with KATO generators, MCCs, switchboards, circuit breakers, voltage regulators and protective relays; verify insulation resistance, continuity, phase balance and protection settings.
• Build, install and commission distribution and starting panels and lighting systems, including terminations (crimp / solder), cable routing and labeling to standard.
• Plan and record PM/CM in MyNabors and Nabors RMS; manage spares in MyWarehouse; write technical and incident reports, JSA / ATS, PTW, LOTO and HSE observation cards.

Offshore projects

• Rig Electrician on two ExxonMobil offshore projects with an HMH 3300 HP rig, drilling with MPD (managed pressure drilling) on PADs of 80 and 200 wells with separation, storage and pumping to mainland.
• Part of the crew on the 54,000 ft offshore depth record operation drilled with MPD (Nov 2025).
• Rig Electrician for SAIPEM waste disposal wells on GOP artificial island.
• Electrical support for a 16 MMbbl crude storage cavern project.

Rig overhaul & commissioning

• Supported overhaul, upgrades and recommissioning of H&H Cyber Chair 3300 HP rigs under strict HSE standards; supported rig startups for AD-66 and AD-68.
• Supported full overhaul of the drilling package: HMH Bulldog BD160 Automated Iron Roughneck, HMH DDM-1000-AC-2M Top Drive (3300 HP), HMH GH 3300 EG-AC 2G Drawworks, HMH TPK 2200 AC-RB-10k Mud Pumps and HMH RTSS 37½-E Rotary Table.
• Maintenance and verification of DSU and ABB VFD systems: fuses, capacitors, IGBTs, RTAC and RDCO boards, encoder signals and fiber-optic links.
• Supported overhaul of five CAT 3516C generator sets (2500 kVA each) and completed a rig-wide LED lighting conversion.
• Removed the legacy shaker system and installed and commissioned a NOV VSM 300 shaker with sump.

New-build rig with CNPC

• 90 days with CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation) building and commissioning a new 1500 HP BOMBCO rig (2023), then permanent Rig Electrician on it.
• Among the first crew trained to operate a rig with a Siemens 1280 kW BESS; maintained latest-generation ABB ACS880 VFD drives, Siemens PLC controls, BOMAY MCCs, switchboards, generators and LV distribution.
• Permit to work and energy isolations through ADNOC WMS; logs, test and inspection reports and spares tracking.

Rig Electrician – Rigs 990 & 991 (2000 HP) · Support for Rigs F03 and F07 (1500 HP)

• Nearly six years as Rig Electrician and VFD Electrical Specialist on AC land rigs drilling oil and gas wells in Vaca Muerta: permanent on Rigs 990 and 991 (2000 HP) and support for Rigs F03 and F07 (1500 HP).
• Operation and predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of CAT generator sets, switchboards, MCCs, ABB ACS800 VFD drives and PLC controls at 600 VAC / 60 Hz.
• PM/CM across the drilling package (top drive, drawworks, rotary table and mud pumps), with rapid fault isolation to minimize NPT.
• Diagnosed and repaired faults on AC motors and driven equipment from 1.5 to 1500+ HP; VFD parameterization, functional testing and trend analysis.
• Electrical rig-down, rig-up and recommissioning during rig moves; built, installed and commissioned distribution and starting panels and lighting systems.
• Daily coordination with the Rig Mechanic and operations to plan isolations, PTW and equipment downtime; toolbox talks, safety observations and LOTO compliance.
• Live well and rig data monitoring with RigWatch (now RigCloud).
• Spare parts control and requisitions in MyWarehouse; PM/CM in MyNabors Maintenance and Nabors RMS. IADC RigPass certified with Nabors in 2013.

Chief Electrician – Industrial Electricity (LV / MV / HV)

• Led end-to-end industrial electrical projects with the Engineering Department, from design and engineering calculations through construction, commissioning, testing and turnkey handover.
• Barrick Gold: supply and installation of 1000 kVA / 36 kV transformation centers engineered for 5,000 m a.s.l. and −35 °C operation.
• Substations (SET): 1250 kVA underground substation with TiPEM SF6 switchgear up to 24 kV and MV metering room (Mendoza Judicial Complex); 800 kVA ground-level substations with PFISTERER switchgear; route modification of a 132 kV transmission line (PIT – Boulogne).
• Water utility AySAM: new pumping station with 1600 A WEG MCC and three 380 HP pump motors; pump room automation and programming with VFD, PLC and RTU.
• Solar energy from 13 kW to 250 kW, on-grid and off-grid, plus aerothermal and solar-thermal systems; earthing systems with testing and certification.
• Coordinated multidisciplinary field crews of 20+ people and contractors; led HSE planning, permit to work, technical documentation, FAT / SAT and punch-list close-out.
